Why Optivizor instead of e-collar
Protection from environment
Protects the eye from dust, debris, accidental contact. Also resists shock to a certain extend. Ecollar does not.
The cone is dependant on the ears to hold the cone in place. Like an an ill-fitting sunglasses, it is not comfortable. Headrest ensure comfortable and stability like a baseball cap.
Ears are outside the visor to prevent echo
The cone shape funnels and amplifies noise. It makes it harder to determine which direction of the noise, making them insecure of nervous.
Clear plastic allows its normal field of vision
The ecollar cuts off your pets normal field of vision. With cone, pets also have less ability to turn their head and detect things as easily without it.
UV and glare protections
Tinted to offer UV protection and mesh from glare when your pets are most sensitive to it.
Pets has difficulty to orient with anything that is wider than its shoulders such as the ecollar. Snug fit allows pets to have its full normal flexibility to bend its neck when eating, sleeping, playing and navigating between furnitures.
Why not doggles?
May cause an increase in ocular pressure. Not suitable for pets with glaucoma or breed at risk of glaucoma. A proper diagnosis can only be obtained by a thorough examination and the intraocular blood-pressure measurement which makes detection before any onset physical symptoms difficult unless part of routine check.
Not suitable for dogs with protruding or bulging eyes.
May be uncomfortable post surgical due to pressure around the eye.
May have poor ventilation which is not ideal if the dog needs to wear it the whole day or with eye infections.
Why pets hates the e-collar
Lacking of good vision, ability to detect sound location accurately and ability to orient with the ecollar, pets are restless and are unwilling to settle simply because they find it easier to stand and able to turn towards any direction quickly.
Pets that are visually challenge will find this harder as they are dependant on their ear and smell to orient. It also, to a certain extend, affects their ability to fully use their smell senses as the cone is blocking.
